A farmer group that calls itself Ghana Coalition of Farm Based Organizations, has appealed to President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to appoint Nana Oboadie Boateng to replace the outgoing Minister of Agriculture.
The farmer group wants the president of the Concerned Famers Association of Ghana as the next Agric Minister due to his in-depth knowledge in the Agriculture sector.
Their call comes on the back of the resignation of Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie as Agric Minister.
Dr. Akoto Afriyie is said to have resigned to pursue his presidential ambition in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
This declares the position vacant as the president is yet to make a new appointment.
It is in this vein that the collation of all the farmers in Ghana are appealing to Akufo-Addo to consider and appoint Nana Oboadie Boateng to be the next substantive Agric minister.
The farmers are optimistic Nana Boateng Bonsu would be the best Agric minister due to his experience in the sector for the past 25 years.
They have petitioned the president to consider him for the position through a press release below:
